How lucky I am to, in a very small sense, be a part of this darling tradition. "Sister's Retreat" My Mom's neighbor and dear friend Nanette, was getting together with all her sisters and their daughter's to honor their Mother who passed years ago. They laid out all their sewing machines on the table to piece a quilt, share memories of their Mother, eat a yummy lunch and I was asked to make one of their Mom's favorite recipes: Black Walnut Banana Cupcakes which they recall their mom going out to the tree to pick walnuts for. Arriving with the cupcakes was so much fun to see all the sisters and daughters together making this happen. And so yummy were these cupcakes!
